Default Water Wading Capability?

It's not uncommon to run in to standing water during or after rainfall in my area. It ranges from a few inches to well over one foot at times, and sometimes unavoidable (ie leaving a parking lot with no other way out).

What kind of water wading capability is the Q5 able to tackle?

I'm assuming this will vary depending on whether you're driving a 2.0T/3.0T/TDI.

The manual says 500mm for the Q5.

Euro SQ5 says 170mm, equal to the ground clearance... Not sure why. So far I can only assume the fancy exhaust actuator doesn't like getting wet...
Not sure what the US spec SQ5 says, be interesting to see if its 200mm (as it's not lowered 30mm compared to euro).

Awesome picture!

Wouldn't the layout of the motor/air intake/cooling system affect water wading depth? This may be the case with the SQ5.

No SQ5 3.0TFSI has the same engine and the air intake system / cooling system and as model 3.0TFSI

Does anyone know why Audi might've set the water wading limit at 19.7 inches?

its a crossover SUV. if you want more clearance its best for you to get a truck or a SUV that is high off the ground.
