Default Disable city lights

One of my city light bulbs burnt out and I can't seem to find anything at auto stores to match it to OEM color. Sylvania silverstsrs are even more yellow than whatever the OEM brand is. I was very attracted to LEDs as city lights but then there is this whole issue of needing resistors, which in my experience get very hot, and there's no close metal where it would be a good spot to mount them.

The way I see it I have 2 options:

1. Find LEDs that ACTUALLY eliminate the bulb error message. I ordered a pair from superbrightleds but it turns out they only draw 3 watts, where I need 5. Can anyone recommend LEDs that will actually work? How is the heat dissipation on them? Are they safe to run in the plastic housing for a long time?

2. Eliminate city lights altogether. Either taking them out of the headlight housing socket by covering them with something or VCDS. I checked some vag codes in the instruments, gateway modules but did not see anything where I can just turn off the city lights. Does anybody have any input for vag com method or any suggestions how to mask the light on the city bulbs?

Buy the osram light blue halogen replacements like i did. They look nice and don't throw codes.

No, that is for daytime running lights, you cannot disable city lights in the MMI

Surr they will look good at night but blue osrams will throw a blue reflection on the headlights during the day, no? That looks cheap in my opinion

No, they don't at all. They are exact similar bulbs to the OEM standard ones, just have a blue coating on the outside so when lit it produces a whiter look vs. the yellower stock look.

The OEM city light bulbs have a slight blueish tint to them but when you look at the headlight during the day, there is no shade of blue reflecting. Are you saying the osrams are the same in that regard? In my experience blue coated bulbs give off that blue shade reflection in the headlight housing

With regard to my last message, the blue tint I am talking about is during the day with the bulbs off

Is this the city light you're talking about? OSram Blue? I took it out - yes, it does look blue in the head lamp.

Replace with this

Use this schematic to simulate the Tungsten bulb characteristics.

I've been running LED DRL and "city lights" for months now.

This is how ptc works

Cheers,

Louis

Problem is that they last about 15 minutes.

If anybody can find them from a reputable source they would be ideal replace.
