1994 audi cabriolet convertible (top won't let down)
I just purchased a 1994 audi cabriolet convertible two days ago. I can't get the top to work. It didn't work before I purchased the car. I can unlatch the roof easily but when I pull the button for the roof to go back nothing happens. The blinking warning light on the dashboard comes on and I hear nothing (no motor trying to work. NOTHING!). The rear driver's side window won't let down. Could that be why the roof is not working? What do I do to fix the window? What can I do to fix the roof/top? Also, I have already checked the hydraulic pump fluid. It is full! Please tell me my next move!!! Thanks!

The window must come down. There is a relationship between the central locking system, the power window control module, and the convertible top control module. You will have to fix the window issue first, then see if the top will come down. Here are a couple of wiring diagrams to help on that issue.

You do know .............
you can manually lower it ?? Until you fix the power option.
I don't know if you can manually lower it with one window up though?

When you say deck lid are you referring to the trunk or the cover that conceals the rag top?

yes you can regardless of the window. Since you are bypassing the whole motorized aspect and releasing the pressure at the hydraulic pump you can just open the valve, pop the rear cover, and then drop the top whenever. However with a window in place you are gonna start messing up rubber seals very quickly.
Get the window fixed first as others say.

This may be easier with two people the first time but can be done alone.
To the best of my recollection it is.............
1)engine off with windows down.
2)unlatch the front T handle and unlock.
3)push up and the rear should raise a little bit.
4)grab the top at the rear where it sits on the lid and raise.
5)there should be two small covers there on the back deck.
6) open them and look for the small lever inside.
7)release the lever on both sides (unlocking the boot cover) and then the boot cover should be able to be raised.
8) once the back cover is raised stow the top into the compartment then push the boot cover down until it latches.
Reverse this to put the top up.
good luck
