paging Jazznuts: how does the headlight washer covers stay on if you don't have washers?

sry -- havent been on here last cpl days... good question, will have to ask installer
not really sure what he did...
side note --
i just put in the side marker deletes and found that the light shined through (painting bulbs doesnt help, paint melts off). So i unplugged them and found that since the LEDs are running off of the side markers there is no Code tripped -- car is happy

installer used polyurethane based adhesive to attach the covers to the plastic thats directly behind
the covers -- i didn't see it but he told me there is no void/empty space directly behind the washer covers which helps to keep the covers in place. He also mentioned you could use automotive/industrial grade double sided tape (the kind used in body kit attachment) which will work as well.
hope this helps

the covers did not come with the bumper from what i recall. if you find my orig post
it has all the part numbers you need (including washer covers). My recommendation is to wire the LEDs to parking lights (side markers) then you can do the side marker delete mod by painting the side markers and removing the bulbs so that they do not shine through when on at night. let us know how you make out, glad to see this other folks going this route as opposed to the imitation stick on LEDs IMHO

hey -- one last item -- since you have the 4.2 -- you will have to trim one of the LEDs
to make it fit, and rebend the metal line (vacuum/ac/something) because it gets in the way -- please refer to my original post a few months ago for additional pointers
from what i read this was not the case with the 3.2

Thanks. I'm actually going over all of those posts and they are very helpful. I never did see the
p/n for those covers but I'm still searching for it. I'm looking to see if I can wire it independently and put a switch next to the ESP off button to turn it on and off that way.
here's where I plan to put the switch:
<img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3206/2970523578_287c237381_o.jpg">
Reason I want to do it this way is so I can turn it on/off at night and still use park lights and maybe (as stated here before though I don't know if it was ever confirmed) can control how bright the light output is.
This mod won't probably be started till next month but I gotta do the research now. I'll update you guys on what happens. Thanks again.

UPDATE: things to keep in mind with this install:
1. Wiring LEDs -- LEDs require 2 power sources and 1 ground. My installer wired 2 cables from the side markers to each LED
2. A/C or P/S line in the way of the bumper. You will need to bend either the A/C or P/S line out of the way for the bumper to clear (other folks on the forum confirmed this). A pipe bend tool will come in handy (per installer). You can also cut out a piece of the bumper for this to fit.
3. bumper guide bolts -- will need to be inverted to clear the LEDs or you can order the S6 bumper guide. Or you can trim the LEDs (least desirable)
