While I realize that I'm in the minority here, I've never been a fan.

But it's good that those who are have the option.

If you love the color, get it.

I do love Brilliant Black, have owned it and would, gladly, own it again.

Yes, it's much harder to keep really clean looking than lighter colors. But clean is clean regardless of color.

If...

Are you opening the sunroof all the way or to the default position?

In either case, this is perfectly normal. But I agree it's annoying.

The buffetting will be far worse if you fully open the sunroof. That's why the B7 and B8 sunroofs default to about 3/4 open...

I read my B8 owner's manual.

That, and the fact that I've owned 7 Audis over the last 23 years including B6, B7 and now B8 A4s. I did take a break for a few years, missing the B5 A4, because I had a '91 100 that seemed intent...

Hey Dave, If you use the system AS DESIGNED, you don't need a "work around"

If you insist on manually controlling the Climate Control (or turning it off) it will be less convenient for you AND you'll be less comfortable with no real appreciable benefit.

Audi did provide...

It's called Climate Control and Audi designed it to be on all the time.

The B8's climate control works exceptionally well, regulating temp and humidity, even compared to the B7 which was pretty good.

I simply don't understand the folks who still insist on turning it...

It's designed that way on purpose for security.

You can have added convenience or added security.
There are valid arguements for having it either way.

Audi chose security.

My personal preference would be convenience because I never leave...

If you are talking about warranty repair work....

You have to take it to any Audi dealership. No indy shop or VW dealer will be approved or reimbursed for warranty covered diagnosis or repair.

If you are talking about prepaid scheduled...

Try this.....

From a stop while in Comfort, accelerate through a 90 degree turn, going to Dynamic while holding the same steering angle in the middle of the turn.

You'll see just how much the effective...

I once had Carmax offer me $4000 less than KBB trade in value

I had just gotten divorced and needed to unload an extra car.

So I took my, then, just under three year old '02 A4 with 32,000 miles to Carmax for a quote.

They offered me $4000 less than the...

You are going to get wholesale pricing on any trade in.

That's just the way it is.

No dealer wants the car you are trading in. He wants to sell you his car.

The overwhelming majority of trade in vehicles go straight to auction.

Sure, the...

I do an oil and filter change every 5,000 miles.

I accept that it's probably overkill and that the recommended 10,000 mile/ 1 year interval is sufficient but I feel better doing it every 5k.

It certainly can't hurt and it's worth it to me if...

I was talking about cars ordered for dealer stock, not sold order.

If the car is a sold order, the buyer could specify front plate delete (or even the plate holder in states that don't require a front plate) and the dealer won't care one way or the other. If the...

If your state requires a front plate, the dealer is legally required to provide you..

with the means to fix one. That's why you car shipped with one, because, based on your location, the dealer had to order it that way.

Fortunately, it's very easy (and relatively inexpensive) to...

I'm glad I'm not a car salesman.

If I were I might have to deal with folks like you for a living.

I don't, Thank God.

I'll admit it. That's exactly what I want.

Honestly, I want my sales person to:

Get the answer to any questions about the product or financing offers that I might ask but I rarely have such questions.

Other than that, I just want them...

By "obey the law" I meant the local TINT law

along with all other laws, of course.

If I were a cop, it would scare the crap out of me to have to come up to the window of a darkly tinted car at night. I respect that.

And because of that,...

Obey the law and you'll have no problems.

Break the law and you're potentially opening yourself up to trouble.

Granted, that's not the popular sentiment here but it's true.

Folks can rail about tint laws being "stupid" and cops being...

Two thoughts.......

My first thought is:

You're asking the wrong crowd. While there are many knowledgeable folks here, there will always be a few folks who will say that you could have done significantly better.
