I've had this happen with my '08 too.

I've seen some other people explain this but to me, it feels like the car decides it is in too high a gear, so the computer cuts the fuel delivery to allow...

I've sent both enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts to Jose at Euro-tech, they love him one and all. Good businessman on top of being a fan of the four rings.

Seems like a great deal for people who use their iPhone for music too...

My music collection is too big for my 8 gig iPhone so I keep an older iPod in the glove box. So until I replace my current iPhone with a 16 gig model, this wouldn't really be a necessary improvement...

..and why does an RS4 cost twice as much as an A4 quattro? Economy of scale..

You can only recoup so much money on a car sold in low numbers, on a small assembly line. The specialized parts on an RS4 versus an A4 not only include the limited number that are made, but the cost...

Gotcha... if I was your age (said the old guy LOL) I'd mod the 1.8T...

and leave the A6 stock. Then that would be the daily driver and the A4 would be more the weekend toy. Daily drive in laid back luxury, spend the weekends in the edgier car. Just thinking out loud..

Ugh.. the standard A6 seats were a no-cost option, what a mistake..

...the only reason I could think of to choose those would be a seriously overweight original owner who simply didn't fit in the regular S6 sport seats. Wow...

'02's were updated and much nicer, but the folks got a '98 bought in late '97, one of the first ML's the dealership got - what a nasty thing it was. I'm never a fan of buying an all-new car in its...

I see what you're saying - but in that case I tap the paddle up a couple gears

and get the car back in fuel saving mode, then the car takes over more quickly.

But I admit taking a hand off the steering wheel doesn't concern me as much, since I had manual transmission cars...

You only nudge the lever once you're settling back into a cruise...

....and the transmission programming makes sense - it holds the gear you've chosen.

But if I was just changing down for a turn or to pass on a two lane road, I'll switch the transmission lever...
