Mine does the same. I have raised Mine by pulling on it as far as it will go and unplugging the motor to just leave it up. I really not a problem.

Probably a bad ground. Check ground cables for corrosion. Don't just check the negative cable from the battery. There are other ground cables from engine to frame.

Door Wedge

The new door wedges I received from Jeff did not fit the corresponding piece on the body. The inside was to large. Try replacing both pieces. I just fiberglassed the outside of the original wedges...

Jeff, I ordered the catch plates that you suggested. The problem is the new catch plates are way thinner than the original ones.
