Starting in second isn't nearly as bad for an automatic transmission as it would be for a stick, automatics uses a torque converter to transmit power to the transmission rather than a clutch plate....

Try putting the car in dynamic mode. With so many gears now a days, cars really don't need 8 or 10 gears so the bottom and top gears are sometimes hardly used.

$999 for Audi care is a good price for probably around $1300 of maintenance, assuming its a 4 year plan. Audicare is for liquids, 3 oil change and 2 brake fluid replacement.
