Cheapo Vag-com's on EBay

Do the cheap Ross Tech knock offs actually perform or will they fry the car & the computer worst case...just not read next worst case. If they do function well...any suggestions?

Is this just too much for a bone stock one? Any advice on if I should endeavour this or not? A Paxon on a 383 stroker is easy...this car is a bit different. Will the rest of the car handle this...
