Remove oil pan pronto!

After an OK check of the oil pressure sending unit, the next step is to drop the oil pan and check the pickup screen. Chances are very high that the screen is significantly clogged. If thats the...

Unless your able to weld stainless, you need to see a muffler shop to have one installed.

Most auto repair shops are lousy at this kind of work. You need somebody who does welding everyday.

Thats a very valuable time saving trick. We've been doing it that way for years now. Little tip:

once the timing belt is pulled forward about half the width of the cam gear (passenger side only), take a couple of zip ties and snug them around the belt and cam gear in a couple of places. This...

The shipping will surely negate any savings over an Advance or Autozone purchase.

Just pick up an Osram or GE bulb with the nickel base. The cheaper bulbs will have a brass base. A dozen quality 1157 bulbs will probably last you a couple of lifetimes.

Do throttle adaptation by turning the ignition key to the run position and leave it there for

5 minutes. Turn the key back to stop and then start the car. Thats the back door way of doing it without the VAG tool.

$350 tops for entire 80K from an independent and well worth it. Brake fluid change

(every 2 years regardless of mileage) if due, should be no more than another $60.

I'm sure this will haunt every tech that worked on your car for a very long time.

A good technicians worst fear is not being able to "figure it out". I'm sure you've heard the old saying, "doctors get to bury their mistakes, but mechanics have to live with theirs".

Yada yada yada, forget my opinion and post the Q on the S4 board. Oil change just prolonging the

inevitable. If 1st 2nd and or reverse are getting a little rough, put a clutch in it pronto.
