I believe so. I recall Safelite saying they had to get it from the dealer. At the end of the day I had the dealer do it just in case there were any issues with calibration.

You should get a guide with the rings you purchase for gap size

It depends on boost level and material of the rings. The higher the boost, the larger the gap. Mine are on the large size ;)
