Why can't you use your iphone hooked up to AMI for audio and still use the phone via the bluetooth connection? I've never tried it in the car but I know if I'm using my phone to listen to music the...

Installing an aftermarket backup camera without the nav option?

I understand someone here has done it. I'm looking for details on the installation. How did you tap the non-nav MMI screen video inputs? How do you connect the interrupt wire from the camera so...

The proper tire size for 18x8 is 225/40 but some have done 235/40. Depending on the actual brand of tire and ride height, you might get some rubbing with the 235/40. I ran 235/40 on my iForged...

What are your goals? Big boom or overall sound quality?

Do you want to conserve trunk space or size doesn't matter? One amp system or multiple amps? $5k is a big budget and you can do almost anything with that kind of money. Once you set some criteria,...

You're overthinking it.

The amp delivers power to the sub on demand meaning whatever the sub draws from the amp, that's what the amp puts out. Just because it's rated for 900W RMS doesn't mean it outputs 900W at a constant...

Since it's not a track car, weight is not an issue.

Without weight restrictions, it is very easy to make the stereo audible over the exhaust.

I guess what I'm saying is, unless it is a dedicated track car that gets to the track on a trailer, almost...

The VAG-COM was the best thing I bought when I had the S4.

Paid for itself after just a few uses. You could just find someone close to you that has one you can borrow if you only need it for a one time read but in my experience, you're going to need it many...

In my old system I had my mids crossed at 63 and got enough midbass to keep the stage in front.

I did have DSP which was a major factor but it can be done with proper tuning.

Do you buff it off after applying or just wipe on and leave it?

I just wiped it on and left it but it seems to be ok. The instructions say you can buff if desired.

meem and roadyTT: Thanks for the recommendation on Spinneybeck

I finally got a chance to use it today and it turned out great. I like the fact that there is no strong smell, no film left behind, and no shiny finish after the application. The leather looked...

I don't have RFTs and don't have a spare.

M cars do not have spares and don't have RFTs. Instead, BMW provides you with free roadside assistance for the duration of the warranty. I think that service only is free for M cars though. For...

No but Hi-Vi is typically on the lower end of the scale.

I don't know of any other 4" coaxials on their site though. I know they have the Seas coaxials but they are 7".

They are definitely there.

Aftermarket harnesses tie directly into these wires so they are there. There are additional cables there that are part of the CAN system and initiate diagnostics but you don't have to worry about...

Break out your multimeter

constant 12V is simple enough to test for. Just look for a wire that's hot with the key out. Ignition (I assume you want accessory) can be found by turning the key to the accessory position (or on...

Somebody had a similar issue on a black car many years ago on this forum.

Can't remember what they ended up doing though. Had something to do with the clearcoat under the surface doing some funky stuff.

I had it but I don't think it's directly related to the GTs.

The sound remained even after I reinstalled the stock suspension. My guess at this point is that it was related to either rear control arms or the spring perch.

In that case, I would go with the dual 4-ohm.

The reason is that although it won't make a difference for the amp you're planning to use now, if later down the road you choose to upgrade the amp, there are more options for high-powered mono amps...
