The body shop gave me a schematic of the rear view mirror construction with a price list of all of the prices for the...

Fix or replace right rear view mirror on Q7

I was driving around a curve next to a chain link fence with green mesh on it and swerved toward the right (driving in USA!) to avoid a car coming the other way and my right rear view mirror scraped...

Re: MMI flashing on and off

The problem turned out to be a failure on the Bluetooth chip that is shorting out the MMI system.

They had to order a replacement - I will be taking the car in next weekend to be fixed!

Does...

MMI flashing on and off

I have a 3.6 Premium Q7 with no navigation but with bluetooth and Sirius that I purchased in May 2007 and which currently has 25K miles.

Just last week the radio, CD and bluetooth started blinking...

Re: Pretty steep price!!

I think you would rather buy the CDs and play them on your CD changer than play individual songs on your ipod with the $1200 AMI retrofit!

Oil changes at 10K, 20K, etc.

I have the Audicare package which provides free maintenance service at 5K, 15K, 25K, 35K and 45K but we may decide to purchase the car after the lease (3 years 45K miles).

Is it worth doing oil...

Re: When is the second service?

I think it would be prudent to do oil changes every 5K miles in between the scheduled 5K, 15K, etc. services if you plan to keep the car long-term.

Re: Looks reasonable

Also I think Garnet Red is one of the colors that is being discontinued for 2008 so this should get you even more of a discount.

Re: Get the Quattro

Check out Fort Myers Imports in Fort Myers too.

If you are leasing, the Quattro has higher residuals than CVT so the payments will not be much different.

I also think the transmission for the...

better at 1200 than at 800 miles

The sound of my wife's car upon acceleration is much better now. How long is the break-in period for the A6?

Also my wife's previous car was a V8 Jaguar S-type. We were lucky in that we did not...

noisy acceleration for new A6 3.2 Quattro

My wife's new 2007 A6 3.2Q makes a moderately loud whirring noise when she accelerates from 10 to 40 mph. Is this typical for this vehicle? We test drove another vehicle and did not notice this...

Doesn't work

My son did this too.

What effect does the child lock have anyways? Does it disable the power window and the door opening but still allow the power locks to be turned on and off?

Re: true, same happens in the Cayenne.. turns off about 5 to 7 mph or a predetermined amount of time

If you are parallel parking it is nice to have the rear view camera working when you are moving forwards and backwards moving closer into a parking space.

Re: 20" wheels/tires. Anyone think he made a mistake for getting them?

I got the 18" standard tires on the car and it drives fine. The 20" tires look much better because they fill the wheel space but with the $1600 I saved up front and the savings on replacement tires...

floor mats

Are there any floor mats for the A6 that are softer than the Audi or Weather tech floor mats? My wife wants to purchase some floor mats to go over the Audi carpet and protect it from dirt and stains...

Re: I have a couple of questions:

Which dealer has the crazy service?

I have heard bad things about the dealer in North Miami and good things about the dealer in Pompano Beach.

How I did it

I just rotated the thing at the bottom of the cupholder 90 degrees and then was able to pull the base of the cupholder higher.

Hopefully the "what comes up must come down" concept applies!

Re: front cupholder in front driver console

I forgot to mention I have a 3.6 Premium Q7 with bluetooth so the front console has the frontcupholder uncovered and the rear cupholder covered by the armrest.

Re: strange about your trip comp - have you gotten it checked out?

Not yet - I purchased the vehicle 120 miles away from home due to finding a car that exactly matched my specs there. Do local dealers provide good service when you bought the car someplace else?

current MMI version

What is the current version of the MMI?

When I press Version in Car mode I get 4 versions for SW, HW, FT SW and FT HW.

I think my SW version says 6032 at the end.

I purchased a 3.6L Q7...
