I found some silver engine paint at Oreilly worked pretty well.

I also found that Bartenders Helper works pretty well to clean off the grime.

Seriously...

Compressor is probably worn down...but not out if it is still running and keeping you up.

Just needs an overhaul.

Should take about 3 hours and a beer can and some eye...

Is the Turbo in the 1.8t any easier to get to than the 2.7t?

I would factor serviceability into your decision.

The 2.7t Turbos are pretty hard to get at if you want to replace or upgrade them...

Looks cool, front bumper is less than practical

Having grown up with a Volvo 240dl I'm kind of partial to real bumpers which is one thing I like about the old ar.

This is very pretty...but I think that front bumper would get a dent just looking...

I paid 3500 for mine and I needed a both new front shocks and springs. Still have an oil leak I haven't tracked down yet and a laundry list of other minor things. Pretty good shape inside and out...

3yrs/36k parts and labor on all work. So I can understand some of the markup is them...

I was driving around on Level 3 with no problem.
