oh thats timing chain beyond spec time, that car also had a very bad tensioner that was supposed to be upgraded. lots of info on you tube about it .

google the humble mechanic and vw/audi chain...

have the shop check the inspection port in the front timing cover and check intake cam adaption. P0016 means the cam and crank sensors are too far away from each other and can be a number of things....

the VW version of the 2.0 T never used low tension rings and that's why it never saw oil consumption problems , i don't know the details but guys put in the pistons with 21mm wrist pins from that...

yup sounds like bacteria growing , two treatments of lysol fixed me up too ,, oyu can by specific products for this but i found the lysol worked fine. Also make sure your AC drain is not clogged......
