I would just replace the knock sensor since that is what the fault codes are calling for.

Not much will trigger the check engine light under boost...usually when it happens it's the intake temp...

No there is also a ground that connects to the drivers side engine mount. Also there is the ECU ground that connects to the intake manifold.

I'm surprised your car would even run with the ground...

It's located on the side of the intercooler. Look to the left of the throttle body hose. The IAT sensor is held onto the intercooler by two 10mm screws.

They usually can be repaired by soldering...

Yeah, it bolts up to an MC2 fine as well as a MC1, NF, NG etc, etc. It'll basically bolt up on anything 5 cyl.

The problem of course is compression ratio. As stated earlier, the MC1 won't cut it....
