Re: a question for the electronic techies

Won't work. Wiring harness is different. Lots of work to make it happen. I tried once and decided it wasn't worth the effort. Good luck with it though.

Selling my 87 5000 NF auto for $1200

Haven't been on in a while (a few months). Hope everyone is well. I was out of town and very busy. I just bought a Syncro Vanagon and have been using it as a daily driver so I reluctantly have to...

Re: Insight on dealer profits

Absolutely true.

You might find this interesting as well. I worked for a GM dealer in the 80's. When the vehicles were delivered to the dealership they came with window stickers that listed all...

Re: Anyone ever have a MFTS cause low boost problems?

After you install the 3-pin switch be sure to cut the unused wire off the connector and secure it to the harness. If you leave it on the connector and you happen to get more corrosion in it (common...

Re: Check the repair manual - My '02 rear calipers Must be turned in with a special tool.....

Sounds barbaric but this does work in a pinch. Big C-clamp AND a pair of channel-lock pliers. Tighten the clamp's screw end against the piston and turn the piston with the channel locks. Then repaeat...

Did the car pull before the tires were installed?

If not, you're probably on the right track as far as rotating front to rear. A weak motor mount could make the car torque-steer a bit as well (pull while accelerating). Good luck.

Re: Let's say you disconnected your oxygen sensor. Would that cause a bad idle?

Forces the computer into open loop, driving the mixture rich. Idle should pick up speed a bit and the exhaust will get really stinky!

Trying to see if it works or something?

Re: K-Line?

I believe you can use that harness without any mods to the existing wiring. I think that's the Jetta/Passat adapter? Don't quote me on any of that though.

Hey, how's the new car treating you?...

Re: okay, first of all...

Everyone's right on this one. It helps keep the engine cool on the highway.

Had a personal experience with this in my cousin's 90 on the drive from Seattle to Dallas in the middle of August one...

Re: 1991 90q20v

White:coolant, white w/blue:oil, black:fuel.

Is the coolant low?

Does the oil look like a chocolate milkshake?

Does it run bad?

Any of these would indicate a bad head gasket, etc.

Re: WHO had done a thermostat on a V6 w/o taking the timing belt off?

I tried, quite unsuccessfully I might add. Yanking that thing out caused the driver's side cam to retard one tooth. Not enough to cause any damage (Thank God), but the car would'nt get out of it's...

Re: Audi 100 steering rack boot / hood release questions . . .

The only experience I've had with split boots is on CV joints. Can't say as I'd recommend them. Water and dirt can enter the boot no matter how well you install it, causing the joint to fail.

As...

Re: You are so right!!! (more questions)

I'm glad you tried out some different pressures. Find what works best for those tires and stick with it. And make sure you rotate them at least every 6000 miles or so. You'll find you get the best...
