Re: Paging Ed@Induktion.

Heh, yeah, I let him by. I was having problems on the brakes on the not quite dry track. The brakes wanted to constantly lock up, even going easy on them.

A few things about that video

That's the tough way to go up the esses. You want to straighten it out a lot more and stop going turn-settle-turn-settle, etc. It should go loaded from the left to right without an inbetween state....

Dunno

A house maybe. Maybe I'll just get some piece of crap with a slushbox so I won't be tempted to track it.

Anyhow, yeah, so the brake pedal went straight to the floor. Pretty ****in scary...

I...

Drew is right

I should have made that more clear. Jeff Frederick, the main organizer of the event, asked what happened and spoke to both to me and my passenger.

I was driving the Evo

Chris, I hope you're doing well. Sorry about the scare =(

Anyhow, yes, some of the organizers had the opinion that the reason I got into the accident was because I was driving over my head. If...

Don't do it

You need a turndown if you're running an exhaust under the car. The main reason I did it on my racecar was so that I could get away with as little muffler as possible. If you run a turndown, the...

Re: so what happened to the cobalt fluid?

Not enough profit for how much trouble he was going through.

Motul is the softest

All the rest, I can get a rock solid pedal feel from. I doubt you will tell any difference between Neo and SRF in terms of pedal feel.

I wouldn't run 2500's up front on track

The DS3000's wear out in about 2-3 days for me. I can't imagine how fast the DS2500's go.

They're a good street/auto-x pad though.

Motul and pedal feel

Motul always feels soft, imo. It's just the way it is. Have you actually felt the fluid boil, as in the pedal way down with little to no pressure? I doubt it.

If you want something that will...

Multiple problems here

First, new tires aren't the best to use on track. You want them nice and worn down. They tend to chunk when they have a lot of tread on them.

Also, you must have abused the hell out of the tires...

Mojo. It don't work like that.

With all the odd crap that breaks on my car, you'd think I've had a lifetime's worth of **** now. Yet, we still have oddball breakage.

Busted a welded nut on a subframe @ VIR a few weeks ago. ...

No biggie

The head is fine. Maybe 4 bent valves at the worst. We knew it was on borrowed time. We have to run stock Honda rods and the ones we chose weren't meant to run this high in rpm, but can make more...

Anything more and they felt bad on my car.

Finish on wheels

Make sure you strip the finish off the seating area of the lug bolts. If you don't, what happens is that the bolts are torqued, but as the finish flakes off, the bolt comes loose.

2.5 lb or 3 lb purple k

I'd only use halon on my own car (fire system). It's good to have a small one for other cars or small oil fires or bbq fires or whatever crap comes up @ the track. You don't wanna waste halon on...

We're trying

I dunno if Steve has fired up the motor yet, and he's out in Cali til Thursday. We've gotta bolt all the suspension back up to the car too. We put in a bunch of spherical bearings and replaced...

Re: Carbon Fiber Hoods

Yes, it should definately have pins, whether you have a stock config latch or not. Also, just realize that if you crash w/ a CF hood, it goes into a billion pieces, or it might just come off at one...

ham fisted, ham footed

Who the hell wants asbestos brakes anymore. DS3000's are better anyways. It's not Ferodo's fault you try to jam the pedal to the floor every time :-P

The Cobalt VR's wear better than the...
