Don't remember discussion on plugs

on any of the other Mk 2 boards in the past year but try a search on Quattroworld or Fourtitude. This board has been pretty dead.

Have not seen this discussed on this or any other Mk 2 board

IMO the dealer should replace OEM with OEM unless he has a TSB from Audi recommending otherwise. If so, ask to see it. NGK was the OEM plug manufacturer for the Mk 1 1.8L engine (don't know about...

Check battery voltage first

If there are significant battery shorts, your car should crank slower than normal after not being used for a day or so and the battery voltage before starting will be under 12.6V. It would also be...

All USA Mk 2 TTRS have 360HP

Assuming you are in the USA. Just check the Audiworld model guide for official Audi of America specs. Are you confusing 360HP with 343 Ft-lb of torque? The USA TTRS was only sold with a manual...

Check the top closure switch

You still may have a separate issue with this switch which is common. The switch is inside the latch hole on top of the windshield on the driver side. Press the switch all the way in with a...

WAG

Wild Assed Guess. Never heard of this problem before but my guess is that you have a battery short. The dropping RPM and alternator noise are due to a very heavy alternator load, like a serious...

There are a few aftermarket parts

Had my front end crunched by a truck backing into me while my car was parked. Pushed the front end back to the radiator. The insurance company tried to get me to use aftermarket parts but they only...

The information I provided is the same for coupes and roadsters

I do not know if there is an antenna pre-amp, but doubt it. There is no need for such a device in today's radios. There have been a few (very few) reports of leaks around the convertible top...

The radio antenna is integrated into the rear window defroster

The stub is exclusively for telephone. For years I thought the stub was FM and the defroster was AM but that is not the case. If your rear window has an aftermarket metallic tint, it will totally...

Most TTs came from the factory with 225/45/17

The bone stock tires were 16" but very few were imported to the US. Supposedly, the 18s have better traction but a few argue that this is not necessarily true. In addition to softer ride you will...

With only about 2000 TTs sold per year you need a big search

Even a nationwide search brings up relatively few TTs compared to most other cars. Fortunately for you, more TTs are sold in CA than any other state.

At your price point, I'd stay with the OEM

It's not a great unit but there have been very few posts over the years on the various TT boards about going aftermarket. OEM is just much less grief and it is serviceable. Just swapping the head...

Based on what I see, I'd go with the lower mileage TT

Take the VIN to your nearest Audi dealer and the service manager will gladly give you any Audi service records which should be for at least the first 50K miles. You are talking almost 20K miles...

The sensor is located in the inside top of the windshield inside the latch hole on the driver side.

Do a search on quattroworld or fourtitude

There are several companies you can mail it to for a rebuild for a few hundred $. The cluster is one integrated circuit board. Swapping parts is not recommended. Repair/replace the entire cluster.

On the Mk 1 boards there are frequent posts by folks looking at cars 100K+

I think the Mk 2 is more reliable then the Mk 1 which has many cars on the road with 150K+ on the ticker, but there are not a lot of TTs out there with 100K+ on the DSG tranny.

The Mk 2 TT was not...
