Yea those alternators are pesky to remove. Every time I've had to do a coolant pipe (4 engines) the alternators have been stuck in there pretty good!

I've got 3 oil cooler patches. 1 on 32v and 2 on 40v's - the second 40v was way eaiser than the 1st one. Still had the sacficial allen key. Good write ups on QuattroWorld and Audi pages.

Depends on what 4.2L V8 your talking about too. The older 32v only had one vacuum actuator. The first 40v had 2 vacuum actuators for the flaps and also used electricaly actuated hydrolic timing chain...

My pump did not have any gaskets or o-rings sealing it in to the pump assembly.

I have not ordered a replacement pump or reinstalled yet.

SCL what pump did you buy and from where?

I replace the TB cover seals and the CS seals when I did my TB job.....

And I still have a nasty leak coming from behind the TB on passenger side too. I've just been living with it and not parking in anyones driveway for the last 3 years.

That was a good guess but.
I did have to check, but I was sure I did the 32bit install. Over all I've been happy with Vista after SP1. I can't believe that I have lived with the original install...
