The chime in a B4 90 is in the instrument cluster. More specifically in the "minicheck" (from the front it's the top section of idiot lights, with the cluster out it's the module in the middle...

As long as pistons hit valves there is inevitable damage that will need to be remedied. A compression test will help to identify which cylinder(s) is(are) affected.

Ding! All seasons aren't very good in the summer nor winter. Dedicated summers (and snows if applicable) are the way to go. Once you have dedicated sets you'll wonder why you never did before...
