Custom ordered my 1998.5 A4 2.8 QMS from Scottsdale Audi in February, 1998. Picked it up in June, 1998. Still have it - 147,500 miles on the odo as of right now.

I think I paid just north of $125 for LCD refresh on the trip computer. Very fast turnaround of the unit... got it back maybe 10 days after I mailed it.

Car stalls sometimes when clutch is pressed during braking.

OK, so last night I removed and shipped my instrument cluster to ModuleMaster up in Idaho and drove to work (and back) w/o an instrument cluster. No biggie.

However, something that kept happening...

How is ModuleMasters for restoring the dead LCD trip computer displays? Mine is almost completely unreadable in the Arizona heat; it *somewhat* comes back in the cooler winter months, but still has...

Why would you replace your clutch every 60k? My first lasted over 100k before I replaced it, and even then, it was still good to go for awhile.

Wait... before we say that his alignment is "out of alignment", hear me out on something.

Since my 1998.5 2.8 QMS was new, the fronts have ALWAYS worn much more on the insides than evenly across...

Car won't start after refueling.

Weird. I've had this happen twice now in the past few months. After refueling, my 1998.5 A4 2.8 QMS won't want to start after filling up at the pump. Cranks fine, but just cranks and cranks and...

Ugh. I'm not good enough to make my own mounts.

Didn't think it would be this hard. May have to return the brand new lamps.

I suck.

Installing OEM factory fogs (lower) on a 98.5 A4

OK, got the OEM lamp housings for lower bumper fogs, just like a 99+ B5A4. Already have E-codes and set up wiring to accomodate these in advance.

However, when I was looking at how these would...

$2,000 is on the far low end for what you described...

I'd say that $2,000 is TB/WP parts and labor only. Unless you are doing all of the above stuff yourself, then that's another thing.

Hey, how is it positioning your e-Codes? Mine won't go R/L for anything.

R/H side is spraying roadsigns but not much up the road. I've tried everything.

Some say that the screws are very ****ty and often fail or don't work to begin with.

I specifically ordered my '98.5 A4 w/o heated seats.

Who needs 'em in Phoenix? Waste.

Now, chilled seats would be a great option.

PHX, AZ all it's life - no salt and only snow a couple times in Flagstaff...

... but they use cinders up there, anyway.

I was expecting the immediate alignment after it's complete; just don't want to pay stealership prices and want to see if I can tackle it... need to get...

How difficult is a full front suspension change by the at-home mechanic?

Obviously, I'm going to need a few tools I already don't have, but for a 3-day weekend sometime and good instructions, is this something a moderately-skilled guy can handle?

It's in the...

So, in addition to my engine oil leaks, I have power steering leaks.

Question: How hard is it to completely diagnose power steering leaks and completely replace the reservoir plus the lines?

Reason I'm asking is that the reservoir was almost on empty and I...

I'll have to get under it again to pinpoint the leakage;

Just seems to be the whole RH side of the engine, as before in the prior leakages. Seems to be chronic on the RH side, and it's not cam seals.

Seriously... how hard is it for the dealer to fix 2.8L oil leaks?

Back in January/February, I took the 1998.5 QMS 2.8 in for oil leaks. Specifically, from the upper and lower oil pans.

Had to take it back just a couple days later for continued leaks.

Roll...
