I've heard that too, but have no experience with it. Only additional comment I have is may want to disconnect the exhaust so you don't destroy the cat.

Any others have thoughts?

You will need to drop the oil pan and clean out the oil pump screen. And, you still may have the problem as the sludge will be throughout the engine.

That's what I was afraid of. The 1.8t is notorious for "sludging" if regular oil changes with high quality synthetic are not done. I changed mine every 5K since I have owned it which is more...
