Agree w/each of your observations. The 3.0T is plenty peppy

but I sure do miss the V8 growl of the 4.2 FSI. 3.0T sounds like a damn sewing machine.

haven't broken in the 3.0T yet so too soon

to fully compare, but the 3.0T is plenty peppy off the line, with quicker throttle respnse than the 4.2 FSI. And it doesn't hold first gear when cold like the 4.2 does, so I no longer need to...

If can live w/o sport pkge, still some '09s out there

for far more attractive prices. If you're like me, however, sport pkge. is a must and I just had to stay w/ 4 rings. So I sucked it up.

4.2 FSI @ 350 hp

non-FSI has smaller output. Either 4.2 > 3.2, IMHO.

S-Line rear bumper is fully painted along the bottom...

Regular bumper has gray matte plastic along the bottom.

true enough, but the new front/rear LEDs surely help atone for the loss.

Your eyes are so drawn to the lights that you really don't mess the S-Line bumpers all that much.

That dealer (Riverside) is reported to be in serious $$ trouble.

Plenty of horror stories out there (but I can't tell you where to look because of certain AW sensitivities). Be very careful.
