PCV is a common problem. Mine failed at 60K. It could also be related to vacuum leaks. That's another common problem.

That happens when you have stuff in the cabin heater jamming it but you said you cleaned it up.

You must have an air bubble in the heater. Here's one way of dealing with it:

Fixed my "no heat"...

Yup, 2.0T is direct injection. They added another injector on the intake in 2013, finally, and that fixed all the problems. And yes, there's a methanol water kit for $400 for 2.0T that also fixes the...

It's not just the oil consumption, it's also the intake carbonization. They didn't fix that until 2013 model year. That causes a host of other issues if left unchecked. It's a shame, on the face of...

I'm coming up to 100K miles and I've had stage 1+ with the factory everything (except injectors and DV), no problems. If you heat it up and cool it off properly and employ proper maintenance (VW 502...

This has been beaten to death already. Just chip the A4 (stage 1) or chip + injectors (stage 1+) and you're faster than the 3.0 or the Lexus. IMO, 1.8T is a lot sturdier engine than the 3.0.

Sorry, no diagram.

I had to replace that relay at one point because my SAI pump wouldn't go off. It's a $3 part IIRC. It's under the computer. You sure you got the right one because there are 3...

Mostly people from North America on this board and they never sold diesel B6s over here. Oddly, my 1.8T does the same in summer when the engine is cold, not in winter. I haven't figured it out yet.

Who made the OEM B6 A4 rims?

Specifically, the 17'' 5 spoke sport wheel. Was it Ronal? Those rims are indestructible. Mine have survived 12 winters with no wear to show for it.

I got around to changing the oil. The old oil looked pretty nasty and dark brown, I'm glad I did this.

The Shell oil is better than whatever the stock was, smoother shifting, seems better at both...

I did, no feedback. No surprise, it's Porsche/Ferrari specific (but with good low temperature characteristics and is GL4/GL5). It's not expensive but it only comes in 19L pails.

I'll post as soon...

Hey Lyle, long time, no see. Glad to see you're still around. Did you get another A4? People think I'm lying to them when I tell them my A4 is 14 years old, not kidding. It's uncomfortable so I avoid...

What are the viscosity specs for stock Audi transmission fluid?

I can't find anything. Pelican Parts seems to imply that the stock fill is Fuchs Titan Sintopoid 75W-90. I'm thinking of using Shell SPIRAX S5 ATE 75W-90 which is the stock fluid on Ferrari and...

Only if the perforated the door. Surface rust doesn't count. My local Audi dealer uses a pen test. They give you a pen and if you manage to make it go through the rusted panel, they'll fix it.

Use the diagnostic software on the car computer, it'll tell you what's wrong.

By the sound of it though, maybe the engine speed sensor (aka crankshaft position sensor) is shot.

Thanks for the tip.

The breather hose was shot but even after my mechanic replaced it,

Misfires galore

When the engine is cold my A4 misfires badly. If you leave it idling when cold, it will run fine for 5 or 10 seconds and then the rpm will suddenly drop down to 600 rpm, almost stalling. Keeps doing...
