That coil ground seems indeed to be the source of the instrument cluster issues. The bolt was rusty and wasn't getting continuity, fixed that. I assumed the ICM was the only thing getting a ground...

So, it's all patched up, everything's reattached, new rotors are on, brakes are bled, the new spark plugs and ignition wires are very shiny...

Except there's a very small metal nipple sticking off...
