the outter joints are prone to failure, the inners are not. i have an outter cv joint forsale if you are looking, it is from an s6, i think it is the same, but 80$ shipped takes it. brand new.

i hope you dont think that c5 4.2's have a chain. the only 4.2's that have a chain come in the b6 s4's and newer. man, i wish it had a chain. then you wouldnt have to change it.
