I think that is it. It has the metal band. I assume that I slide a flat screwdriver under the metal band and pry up and that should unlock it and the wires slide out ...

Thanks,

How do you remove the coil wires from

the coil pack on an 02 a6 2.7t?

The tech article had different clips.

These coil packs are the bolt on ones and the clips are held on by a metal band. I'm sure there is an easy release but not...

Driver's door is difficult to open from the inside and outside. When I pull the handle on the

inside it barely opens the mechanism just at the end. It used to open about in the middle. A few times it has not opened at all.

Any thoughts?

Is it difficult to remove the inside door panel?...

Thanks, I was worried that the lube was anti-squeal. I have them in back and they are great.

Very low dust. They took a little while to break in, but after that they were great

I may have messed up. I put new Akebono ceramic pads on the front of my 02 A6 2.7t

I cleaned the slides and was going lubricate them when I saw a little packet in the Akebono box that said Lubricant on it.

I assumed that that was for the slides and used it. Was that correct...

3rd time to have a leaking cam seal repaired on 2.7t. Each time it has been done under extended

warranty, but the warranty is over in a couple of months and I dont' want to shell out $1000 bucks each year to fix it.

Any thoughts on what to do?

I bought mine with cigar smell. Cleaned everything. Used a "bomb" for the vents,

and sprayed the headliner with Febreeze,

After a couple months I couldn't smell it anymore.

2 yrs later I don't smell it at all. Only on really hot days when the inside of the car heats up....

It only took about 5 mins with the needle nose pliers on my last Audi. This one would not go in, it

would just spin and I was pushing in as I did it.

I put on some Akebono Ceramics from Tirerack.

It's an easy job with the right tools...

What a difference the right tools make! Was doing the rear brakes and couldn't

get the piston to go in. It always worked before using needle nose plyers, but not this time. After an hour of trying I finally broke down and went over to Autozone and borrowed their tool.

An...

Akebono Euro Ceramic pads (rear). There is an extra metal plate (shim) attached to the back of the

pad. Do you keep that on or not?

Also, the sides of the pads are tapered. Wouldn't that hurt the pad's performance since there is less surface area to stop?

Thanks

You don't actually need "enough" people for a class action. Generally they are filed with one

plaintiff and usually a phrase such as "and others similarly situated"

The "Class" can be found later through discovery. That is you can subpoena Audi's records of who owns A6s and who has had...

It is complete crap for a TC to go at 50k miles. I would call Audi and threaten a class action and

see what they say. Tell them that you have a lawyer and that you are ready to go.

Audi's brand is built on quality. Frankly that quality went way down in 98-04. They under-engineered many...
