Yes, the fluid is "lifetime" but at that mileage Audi considers it time beyond life.

It's probably the clutch that's slipping. TC problem may have more symptoms.

Don't go to a transmission shop for rebuild. Highly likely it won't work right.

Either get rid of the car once the box goes, or buy a remanufactured unit. I was quoted 5300 euros here in France...

Before it broke, my transmission had the stocking coding 00001 but always held to redline in 1st and 2nd (cannot try 3rd prudently). This is also regardless of throttle position.
