I'm a bit disappointed to hear that it's not the tires as I was hoping a change would sort that out but I still have plenty of tread left on my original Conti's.

I thought the PS2's were "softer"...

Yes - I have the exact same noise/behavior - whether it's "normal" or not I'm not sure but it is very irritating.

Well, it seems like *both* LZ5F and 5N5N are for Sprint Blue - weird..

paintscratch.com will show LZ5F whereas automotivetouchup.com will show both !?!

Re: Audi B7 S4 or BMW 335 xi (NEEDS YOUR IMPARTIAL 2 CENTS)

3 big issues with the 335XI IMO:

-Lack of a rear diff
-No Sport suspension
-Crappy interior

Thanks - Was not aware the CF trim "slides" off...

But I think I will need more explicit instructions before I attempt it. :-)

Does anyone know how to remove driver's side door panels?

Or better yet - can anyone post a Bentley diagram of the front driver's door? I need to remove the panels to try to find the source of a rattle and don't want to screw it up!

Thanks in advance!

Any pics of the Catalunya on a B7 S4?

I have "heard" the TSW wheels are soft and bend easily - any truth in this?

It turns off the servotronic (speed dependent) steering assist

so the steering has the same feel/stiffness at all speeds.

"super heavy" is relative - I guess it would come down to personal preference..

There isn't any error codes thrown with it removed..

And yes - it is easily replaced and you're back to "normal"

Let me know how you find it...

oh much! It feels much more "sporty"

If you look inside your fuse box - behind the small fuses and toward the front of the car, you'll see (sort of) 3 larger fuses.
The one in the "middle" is the servotronic and it has the number 641...

Overboosted steering...

If you are not too happy with the overboosted steering, simply yank out the servotronic fuse.

I did and it feels much better. The steering seems to give you much more feedback. :-)

My 06 Avant also has the same issue..

I only notice it when the temps are below 40. It seems to go away after about 15 minutes.

I'd be interested what your dealer says - but I suspect they may say it's "normal"

Re: "the best AWD handling of any vehicle out there." ???

I said "arguably".

The EVO IX got beat out by 2 porsches but the X apparently has even better handling.

See here for a review of the Evo IX:

The new Evo X will not be 1/2 the price of an S4

Current Evo IX base is nearly $30K
The new Evo X will "most likely" have a base price around $35-$40K.

I think it's a very good alternative - the EVO X will arguably have the best AWD handling of...

And it does actually matter *when* the dipstick is checked...

As the longer you wait the more oil is drained into the oilpan and the less the reading will be.

This is what my dealer told me anyway.

They said to measure the oil as soon as the engine is...

Where exactly did they mark the dipstick?

You have a pic?
I'd also be interested to know when the reading was taken - e.g. 5 minutes after the engine was turned off.

I'd have issues with my dealer trying to figure out when (and how) to...
