AS Q5TDI has posted, Try Neverdull. You can find it at most auto parts stores. It's cotton matting won't scratch, and leaves the surface a little oily so the buildup won't come back as fast.

I think you're probably right. Audi's QC has improved dramatically over the past 10 years, so as you say, there may be a few issues in the first year or two... I'll find out when mine makes it over...

The transmission defaults to D when the car is restarted. No need to go to the MMI, just pull the shifter down one additional time after putting it in D.
