Free pair of tyres.

I'm not sure this should go in the classifieds or not as I am not wanting any money.

I have two slightly used Goodyear Eagle F1 allroad tyres sitting on the shelf in my garage that I want gone....

Well just to finish up on this and give those that follow a reference point I can now say that is was the ingition amps. I went through the practice of swapping coils and plaugs and the misfire...

The techron solution sounds plausible. This started within about 1 minute or a few hundred yards of filling up with a new tank of juice. Of course, it was a Chevron station so there should have been...

RR P38s have had this issue for many, many years

The P38 is the boxy one that looks a little bit less like a London Taxi than the current one but not as cool as the original.

The problem was realised prety quickly when they came out so coil...

Sorry to hear but it was the right thing to do.

I think my mal reads this forum. She avoids the stu by avoiding jumping into the back of the car at all costs. After an extended battle of wills the 85lb. hairy lump insists on being picked up to get...

I came, I experienced Audi and when my allroad is done I will leave for a different brand.

They just don't build an Audi for me anymore. I still love my wife's allroad and she will keep rolling for many miles yet.

Odd, I spent my day detailing my Rover too.

Added front suspension and axle tube today. Only about another year of effort to go. I don't think she'll ever be as shiny as yours though.

Check the charge system first before doing anything expensive.

Check the battery first as cell going bad could be causing this. After that do an alternator check and you should have your answer. It's pretty easy to do with a multimeter.

Tongue weight

The general rule quoted by hitch manufacturers is that tongue weight should be 10-15% of tow weight.

The Audi OEM hitch is class II, 3500lbs which means the suspension is built to take 350 lbs of...

Ah Honda Accord brakes.

In the aerospace firm I work for we had a Phd engineering analyst who ownded a fairly old Accord. One weekend he measured his brake pad and had something like 1/8" material left. Well being a Phd...

^^^^ I can't understand why they won't bring the diesel LR3 here.

I could be interested in that. Otherwise they just look like thirsty V8 Tranny vans to me.

Cheers

Pertty doggie.

I can't really help much other than to say to take it to an upholstery place and get their advice as they are the experts. Either way I can't imagine it will be cheap for a decent repair either.

Unfortunately all fuel is pretty dirty.

It sits in storage tanks and gets pushed through pipes etc. About the best you can do is to avoid filling up if you see the tanker on the forecourt as he will have stirred up all the silt in the...

I saw a Q5 every morning last week when out walking the doggy.

I'm not sure if it is a dealership trying it out or an Audi driver doing the hot weather endurance testing. No badges on the back anyway. Is it released for sale here yet?

I remember seeing an A5...

Electric motors and pumps of this type are very rarely are 'damaged' ....

Failure mode is usually a short in a winding or an insulation failure resulting in a short to ground in which case it just stops working.

The things that will reduce performance are clogged...

No, you've got it.

Fuel flowing through pump is good.
Fuel not flowing through pump is bad.

In comparison very little heat is lost to fuel in the tank itself.

Running out of fuel is the worst thing for the...

Oh, try changing an air spring when the thermometer reads 135°F

I did that last summer and it was not fun. It sucks when your tools are too hot to pick up without gloves. One of the few times I have lost my temper at the allroad.

This summer I got heat...

In tank fuel pumps are cooled by the fuel running through them.

Far less so by the fuel surrounding them. As the fuel surrounding them is fairly static it does not do a good job of cooling.

As a general rule with fluids used for cooling purposes turbulent...

My two year old has been camping since he was 6 months.

We just spent 4 days up on the north rim of the Grand Canyon and he loved it. It's pretty cool as you can essentially go up the forest roads and camp right on the rim.

Start 'em early and they'll...

THe whelbase helps in some cases, hinders in others. 100" or so is considered about perfect.

The things that will kill it as a true offroader are the front and rear overhangs and the lack of articulation. About the only LR it will give serious competition to is a Freelander. In that case...

If it's a short distance then here's a trick.

I was stuck out in the boonies in a national forest so needed to get out. Jack the corner of the car up and then turn it on. The suspension will sag and hopefully close the hole in the airbag enough...
