I had the same issue...I filed down my 11 mm socket but still could not get proper torque...
Ended up doing the best I could and taking to my mechanic. He used an impact wrench to make sure everything was tight.

As Steve said, you need to look at the label on your HU and match the wire colors to their function

My amp switched on when it detected a signal in the line-in (spliced from Bose amp like you)
