I had a 2013 B8.5 S4 and switched to a 340i XDrive when my S4 lease was up and the B9 S4s/S5s was still almost a year away.

What I can say is that the straight six single twin scroll turbo B58...

The new S4 was almost a year away.

You cannot compare the 328i to a 340i X Drive. Its the same as trying to translate an experience driving an A4 to an S4.

Just different animals altogether.

What sold me on the 340i X Drive is...

I too went back to the dark side (BMW).

I had a 2013 S4. My prior ride was a 2009 E90 335i. I also have had an 06' E46 330i vert with zsp package and an 02' E46 325i.

I left BMW over quality....

I know the dealers want it as I am sure its difficult to sell higher prices A4s with brand new...

I put on a set of 18" Conti DWSs this Fall and have been very pleased.

The reduced handling is extremely minimal for an all season tire and they do very respectably in snow.

I too am a convert to the mighty S4 after spending many happy years with my 2007 E90 335i with twin turbo N54 engine.

Extensively test drove the F30 335i...and it could not match the driving fun...

You should go with the S4.

Even with 6K down....having such a low residual (17.5K) you will get the $6K back plus $8 to $10K in additional as the S4 will be worth in the low 30s...or more....if...
