Let's say I did just use a 14-50p to 14-30p adaptor ... is the fancy audi charger smart enough to know it is only getting 30amps and stop at a 24amp...

Our etron came with the universal charger device and TWO different pigtails to attach - one was a standard 15amp household plug and the other was 14-50p.
