Gee Russ, what gives?

Yeah, sometimes it's tough to get a break, anyway I saw an ad for a set of four near me. I'll email you his address, not sure if he will sell just one.

Glad to hear that you're in good spirit.

From what you told me, sounds like the old 88 will be better than ever.
I'm sure, just like the last incident, this is a blessing in disguise too.

Keep that attitude up.

Awfully sad to hear of this Russ

sure glad you were not hurt.

I feel bad I'm not there in FL anymore to lend a hand, moral support, do CC's, throw in a sick joke or two, ...

My cell phone has been changed, I'll call you so...

Sorry for the the confusion

That regulator being tucked under the fender goes unnoticed and forgotten. I've never experienced one fail, but these are old Audis.

Yeah, I'd question his ability too.
With the issues in the...

Re: Running lean?

Kneale, do you think a lean condition in that cyl. could have caused the exhaust valve head to break free? Some of the cyl & piston damage looks like it was from the loose valve head.

And you think you have had a bad day!!!

Man I would not want to be looking down at this right now!
Not sure just how the head of an exhaust valve came off (blown turbo maybe), but hard starting don't sound that bad anymore!

The DPR is not a high failure part, and even if out of spec, the car will still start and run.....

not that good though. My $ is on a bad O2 sensor, and maybe coolant temp sensor.

I'm a bit confused......

I'm assuming you know that the part you replaced is not the cold start injector. From your description, you replaced one of the coolant temp sensors (I'm assuming it's the one on top of the upper...

If your 87 is a non turbo engine, it has a DPR

Cold and hot fuel operating pressures are controlled by the differential pressure regulator. Grey colored electrical part in front of the fuel dizzy. It's not adjustable.

You can clean the ISV with carb cleaner........

sometimes that helps, but it's not really a serviceable part. I haven't bought a new one in years but they are not cheap (prolly $100+).

From your other post, I would replace both temp senders on...

The part # for the 84-88 Avant combo switch is 445 953 513D.

you are right, ETKA does not show this #. Well I could not find it. I checked the # on the part.

If your interior was completely converted (including the dash), this switch will not fit.

You are correct, the PO used a sedans combo switch.

With your "new" setup, you need to install an 89-91 Avants combo switch.
