I recall a slight drip from there @ trans in or out , it sealed

itself .... may have bumped it either with a wrench or bell housing in the removal of re-install ...... also the waterpump leaked when it failed .... in addition if u take the front end off for...

Check the 4" elbow hose tween the waterpumps.

The little hose has a nasty bend in it which tends to dry rot. It is tough to get at and easily overlooked. My 99 A6 Q 2.8 sat for about 6 months in my friends estate sale ....before my emotions...

Uh yeh! Those were called drum brakes - multi piece after exploding - hehehe

can't believe they actually still use drum brakes ..... those were a PITA to rebuild

Update: And the Winner is Pass side CV Joint......

Boot was ripped in half by the ice and snow ..... rough winter!!!

Replacing passenger side axle now!!!!

Midwest winter has played hello with my A6..........

Just found a totally ravaged Outer PS CV - boot after hearing the tell-tale rattling of the deteriorating joint ...... ice and snow did a number on it.

Mine just ticked over 100000K miles too...

Also check 2 see if it is in limp mode?= all digits on gear selector lit up

mine was like that after I re-installed the rebuilt transmission .... re-setting with the vag com solved the problem .......

Why were your rotors originally warped???

Noticed u did not replace calipers. Could u have a caliper hanging up enough to cause vibration ....... which may have caused the original warping of the rotors? It may be as simple as cleaning...

Thanks ....CV slop sounds likely .... seems more from right front >

which makes sense that the right front would go first ..... being as right hand turns are much sharper than left. Wonder what the true statistics are???
