Engine mount solenoid, what is it?

I keep getting this error code:

17994 - Engine Mount Solenoid Valves (N144/N145): Short to Plus
P1586 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

It comes back after clearing it straightaway.

I have a 2002 A4 avant that I bought last week. 1.9tdi, was 100 bhp, chipped to about 140 bhp, atlas grey, SE trim. Lovely car :)
