Mine got so loud I had to change it. It sounded like a muffler was hanging off the ground.

After I reread it, you could be right too heh. It might include CAs for all I know.

I managed to do it without airtools but I did cheat with a friend's electric impact gun. It certainly made things go smoother.

You don't need to do it that way. I did mine by removing the two 13mm bolts

from above. There are rubber grommets you can tear off to reveal the 13mm holding the top part of the shock to the upper suspension plate.

Just for reference

I bought Beru (OEM) CPs with the CP sleeves (tubes) for about $50 each new. Not sure how much Audi CPs go for though but my guess would $60 to $70. Carson could confirm though.

Yeah I did the same at first. I then got tired of swapping out CPs knowing

the others are due to go so I started fresh. One less thing to worry about now breaking. :-)

Heh 195k on CPs or even 100k on each would be something I call reliable.

Did you ever swap out the CP tubes first? That would be equivalent to the ignition wires.

I just swapped out all 4 recently to avoid chasing down the others that will inevitably on their way out....

Yep. I drive A/S and I am in super granny mode regardless of quattro.

I love the go part of it but once I get moving I take it easy because the braking part stinks with A/S.

Yeah noon for sure. I know some that had booked hotels a year or so in advance.

I still haven't tried the NYE thing at Times Square. I might do it once just to add to the BTDT list.

Heh you're right Kris. Most of my nagging issues were maintaining a heavily modded car.

...but it evened out in some cases because changing out the older stock part would most likely have been needed anyway. The biggest issues I had to deal with were past the 120k mileage stage so at...

Well I can speak for my nonDBW coilpacks. They are tricky buggers.

The POS (Power Output Stage) / Ignition amp were all or nothing.

The Coilpacks themselves were another story. They never caused and CEL when they misfired and they were extremely intermittent. The...

Try swapping out Coil Packs. I had the same issues. How many miles on the CPs?

I never really registered any DTCs but when I monitored real-time with the VAG I traced it to one of the cylinders. I swapped the CP out and the problem went away.

If you have access to a VAG-COM...

Yeah I had the prototypes and production release models..it's solid for sure.

Some don't like the weight and slightly bigger size. However I do use it daily and it feels solid and seems like it will last. The screen is REALLY nice too. It's no iPhone but it does the job for...
