I have had my 3.0 Avant since new, put almost 120K miles on it and never had any issues other than broken T-belt pulley at 56K miles and recently needed a new clutch. Timing belt has to be replaced...

I am only trying to help you to understand why 328/330i always beats A4s in all comparo tests.

IMO one of the reason is people’s perception that a 4-cylinder car does not belong to the “upper...

Maybe it is because for many car buyers the best handling, perfectly balanced car with silky smooth inline-six engine belongs to a higher category than rough running 4-cyl turbo sedan ?

The top of the plug is the actual ignition coil (red L shaped tube with flat head that it pushed onto the plug).
You need to push and pry off the wire connector with a flat screwdriver and slide it...

I would continue to look for a 6MT A4 instead of Tip.
You'll enjoy the car much more with manual stick.
Also there have been many reports about Tip hesitation with the 2.0T engine.

6MT A4s are...

Re: Torsen based quattro was the last thing needing any improvement unless

Torsen based quattro was the last thing needing any improvement unless

you frequently drive in extreme conditions. The 40/60 bias change is barely noticeable comparing to the old 50/50.

Again, purchasing a V6 car is not all about comparing HP/torque figures on the specs sheet...

It is rather about car's drivability, owner's satisfaction, long term reliability and overall value despite higher initial cost. You either get it or you do not.

Looks like some new car buyers...

the $4,300 is not only for two more cylinders. V6 cars have always more standard equipment.

2008 B7 Avant 3.2 has standard leather, power seats, 18" wheels, heated front seats, walnut wood inlays.

All these options cost you over $3K extra on the 2.0T.

People do not buy V6 NA cars just because they are 0.4 sec faster on the specs sheet...

Apparently there are some who can appreciate the instant-on acceleration and smoothness of the V6 engine at ANY RPMs. They are also willing to sacrifice the fuel economy as long as they do not have...

Total B.S. Audi or VW were never selling 90% , 75% or even 50% cars with a stick here...

They have been always selling many more automatics in the US. Audi never even offered a stick in a A6 Avant or a cabriolet for example.

6MT cars maybe less popular right now but please stop...

Just like two years ago when VWoA decided not to offer 6MT on the new Passat wagon, people screamed

and then they gave us 6MT Passat for MY 2007.
Would not be surprised if AoA changes their mind about 6MT Avant next year.

No, please stay and tell us how the 335 compares to Audi.

I will be ordering 328ix wagon 6MT later this year...unless AoA changes their mind and introduces B8 Avant 6MT next year.

Yet another V6 bashfest by these who never even drove it...

It looks kind of slow on the specs sheet so it must be overpriced and overrated. I happen own both the ol' good 3.0 (Avant) and the 2.0T (wife's SportBack). After 90K turbo-hole free miles I would...

is the fact that in the last 2 years they have been loosing money on every single A4 sold in the US (due to disastrous exchange rate of USD).

Audi Avant has been one of the best selling cars in...

Not by much though

The current B7 is about the same size as the 328ix.
New B8 has roughly 1" more rear leg room, about the same shoulder room, same head room and marginaly bigger trunk.

So if you do not need manual...
