Your Mass Airflow Meter could be weak causing a lean mixture.

Using a VAG-COM, check block 32 and the 2nd field. If the reading is higher that 10% of 0 such as +10 the MAF is going bad.

Fuel rail mod completed...>>

I removed the plastic tray and polished the fuel rail. Project to about an hour and wasn't too hard. I had to remove the injector/rail to move the connectors and harness under the rail.

All in all...
