Clay bar, YES! Wax, NO!
First wash and clean the wheels with your favorite cleaner. Then clay.
But do NOT use wax. It has a low melting point.
Use something like Zaino Z2Pro or another good sealant, followed by...

Claying should always be done by hand. You need to listen and feel the result. When the clay stops "hissing" on the paint, move to the next section. You should also feel a little drag. Too much...

NO problem using IP/FPII with Zaino!
I've used IP and FPII with Zaino. NO problems whatsoever as long as you wash with Z7 after polishing.
Some people try to shortcut the process and not wash after polishing. I don't understand...
