Bummer. My 06 S4 has 130k miles and still has the original clutch. I have mostly babied it, but not entirely. The clutch is fine.

I live in CA, a state that "requires" a front plate. I chose not to deface the front of my 2006 S4 with a license plate when I bought it new 5 years ago. I have never been hassled for not having a...

2006 S4. 130k update.

A quick background first as I haven't posted lately. I bought my S4 Sedan new in December, 2005. Yes, I still own it. I commute in the car and I have put nearly 130k miles on it. I'm posting to give...

This problem has occurred from time to time on my 2006 S4. I have always been able to solve it by turning the headlights off. When I turn them back on the dipped headlight always corrects itself. I...

Every 10K from 0-50K miles. After 50K I started changing it every 5K.

The dealer told me that the oil only needed to be changed every 10K. In hindsight though I would not listen to them. Every 5K is perfect.

Oil consumption issue.

I recently took my 2006 S4 in for it's 65K. Yes, I drive it quite a bit, and I'm pleased to say that I have not had any problems since the car has been out of warranty. But.....

Over the past 15K...

After reading a few posts below, it was definitely me.

Yours has the Lasher plate on it, right? I take it you just picked it up recently. Congrats!

You can get going pretty fast on that stretch of road if you keep your eyes open. A RD also helps. ...

There's a good chance it was me if it was a 2006.

I live in Nevada City and I commute to Rocklin to work M-Th.

To answer your question, MT.

It's also for sale.

One more thing, MAKE SURE THE DEALER REPLACES ALL 8 COILS.

Replacing only one of them will not solve the problem, and it will only be a matter of time before another original coil fails. Again, this problem is way too common to be considered an aberration....

It happened to me as well. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the car sitting either.

One of my ignition coils failed on the tail end of a drive from Salt Lake City to Lake Tahoe. My S4 had not been sitting at all. In fact, I had just driven it 500 miles. The dealer replaced all 8...

$900 bill for 55K service at my local dealer.

Over $600 of it was for labor. All they did was change the oil, replace the oil filter, pollen filter, air filter, spark plugs, lubed the door seals, topped off fluids, and reset the computer. We're...

You averaged just over 65 mph. I averaged just over 100 mph through Nevada on I-80.

There was a low cloud bank that day, so I knew that the NHP airplanes were not flying. If that's the case, a trusty V1 will keep you safe. Just be weary of other cars until they are close enough so...

Every 07 S4 I've seen going for that price is a tip.

It was similar with the 06's. They were going for more like 48K though. Me thinks the 07's are not selling as fast, and I'm sure the RS4 has something to do with it.

My 2006 S4 gets filled up about every 450km. That's mostly freeway miles.

If you get up to 480km or more you're about to run out of gas. Again, that's with mostly freeway miles. If you do most of your driving in the city it's probably closer to 400km in between trips to...

Saw one today as well. Light grey, not Avus Silver.

The dealer was asking 10K over MSRP. He said it was negotiable, but I got the vibe that he was still expecting a few thousand over for his trouble. I had taken my B7 S4 in for it's 55K, and when they...

Given your situation, I would probably go with A/S even though they don't work as well in the snow.

You might stand a better chance of being able to sell a set of slightly used A/S tires before you move. You certainly won't be needing them in Florida.

I live out west and we often have chain...

I also had problems with the left drivers window getting stuck. Forgot about that. Oil usage also up

The left side driver's window began to get stuck at about 35K miles. I had it fixed under warranty. This problem seems to be way too common. I'm not sure what causes it. It could be due to substances...

MTM has a supercharger for the V8 S4.

APR keeps saying they will have one soon, but they have been saying that for over a year now. The MTM inter cooled supercharger is available. For the cost though you might as well just get a RS4....

My B7 just reached 50K miles. Progress report.

I'm probably the first to put 50K miles on a 2006 B7 S4. Here is a rundown on my experiences with this car since I drove it off the lot almost 2 years ago. Mileage is approximate.

I have a set of Michelin Alpina's for my S4 that I use in the winter months.

The car will go anywhere as long as the snow isn't too deep. My S4 handles better in the snow than any other car I've owned.

Not coil packs. Ignition coils. The car had probably been sitting and condensation got to them.

It sounds like a few of the cylinders were misfiring, or not firing at all. The dealership really dropped the ball on that one. I guess it helps to pose the question "How long has this car been...
