Hopefully the 2010 X3 will carry a 'stick'...

The new X3 certainly looks nicer than the old one.

For those of us looking for more sporting awd wagon options, this and the 535xi seem to be the only manual transmission options (the current X3...

It looks like a Korean knock-off of what it should have been.

Most humdrum styling of any recent Audi. No love here, sorry. It's a total 0 on the enthusiast scale.

No six speed manual with any engines, and no 3.0TDi or 3.0T either?

The styling is...

The only 6M options I can think of are:

The only european wagon/crossover type vehicles I can think of with six speed manual transmissions in the US are:

1. Porsche Cayenne GTS
2. BMW 535xi touring
3. BMW X3

Only the 535xi offers...

Losing the back end? You haven't driven a 997 C2S much.

I owned a 997 C2S and drove it regularly through the limits of adhesion. Losing the back end doesn't happen anymore without blatant intention.

Jesus, read any magazine review and you'd know...

Unless it has to be new: allroad 4.2L

The allroad has a euro tow rating of 5,000 lbs, and a lawyer-limited US rating of 3500 lbs.

With the height adjustable, self-leveling suspension, it's a great tow vehicle for your purposes, and...

Or

In CA anyway, lemon law used to also allow for a one time incident of great severity, generally pertaining to safety.

I don't know if the motor would qualify. I tend to think it applies to things...

Haven't tried the IF dealer. Are they good? Any particular mechanic better than others?

The warm front we had last week, followed by this high pressure sure made a mess of the roads!

Usually I enjoy driving on snowy, even icy roads, but not in the dark with no headlights!

Studs are the only thing that really help on polished ice.

However, the best non-studded tires outperform studs on anything other than polished (hard) ice. In those cases, the sipes do a better job than the studs (more surface area, with pressure to cut -...

Not just yet, but what prices are you seeing on S6's at auction?

They seem to be down into the low 40's for some with more miles or less popular colors. Curious what they are bringing at auction?

Thanks -

I think some adjustment to the f/r bias is needed on mine.

I have 6 piston stoptechs up front (355mm IIRC) and some kind of cobbled together S4 caliper/A8 rotor setup on the rear (pads don't line up with the rotors).

The right rear was metal on metal...

I have 215/60/17 on 2 pc wheels. You might have some rubbing in 215/65

215/60/17 is slightly taller and narrower than stock, but it fits (I have 30mm spacers and wider flares).

Michelin X-ice Xi2 (new generation). $93/ea on closeout at tirerack. Excellent tires -...
