I am not that green, its better to be safe than sorry. I have mostly worked on Hondas and the old Audi 5 cylinders. This is challenging and I am trying to do as much research before tearing it apart....

Pentosin is available through elautoparts.com in the accessories catalog. The proper coolant is somewhat of a debate, however the Pentosin is german made and works with Audi.

I have the same problem, except for the temp gauge at mid way. After a compression test there is a bad head gasket. My boiling is caused be combustion from the motor.

How does the cam locking tool work?

What exactly does this hard to find tool do? Is there an alternative way of taking off the timing belt so I can get to the thermostat, water pump, etc.I will be doing a complete update to that part...

I have had three Audis, everyone had over 100,000 miles. For the most part they are great cars, however sometimes they can stump you mechanically. The quattro is a great car, you'll like it.

Remove the covers, loosen the tensioner, and remove existing. New belt fits really tight.

How hot can a 2.8 get before there is damage?

On my gauge the needle had two marks left and the engine did not sound good. The oil temp went over the 130 mark. Is there hope?
