I haven't been here for 3 years, so I'm very rusty, but IIRC, you can turn the light off with the VAG-COM.

Most people just jumper the plugs.

Tire Rack ratings say good in the wet

and that's been my experience with them too. Wet performance is a key factor in tire choice for me.

I'd buy these again in a minute!

You could have thrown a weight, or . . .

You got the new guy who has no clue how to use the balance machine. It's not a simple as it may seem. I watched a guy teach a newbie once. There are some tricks to doing it right.

Or, as others...

For that engine, the 2.7, there haven't been a lot of TB problems.

The guys in the A6 forum keep asking if someone has actually had a TB fail, and no one seems to be saying yes.

They recommend a substantially higher interval than 60K. Over 100K. I have a friend...

As the author of the FAQ article, let me recommend

that you read a bit more closely.

I specifically say that transmission, transfer case, and differential fluids don't need to be changed if the vehicle will only be in storage a few months. I...

FWIW, pay the extra money to put the Blackstone container in a box

My first sample took about 3 weeks to get to the lab. The next sample in a box got there in two days.

Did you consider that the Sears has a full 1 for 1 replacement warranty

for the first three years? And they honor it! I got a full replacement after a year.

Prorated warranties are junk even if they're honored. You get a prorated amount of what you paid for the old...

How much do you think you'll have to spend to be happy with it?

Add that to the $5K you'd get for selling it. Then think how much you'd have to pay for a new car that you like. Think how much more the insurance will cost for the new car. Subtract.

You'll...

If the red security light at the lock button is blinking when you lock it with the key. . .

I'm fairly certain that the security system is armed and everything else is in sleep mode.

Had you looked in the FAQ or the Tech Section, you would have found one

Granted, it's for a 98.5, but it's good thru 2001, so I suspect it would also be good for a 97.

2nd. Blue lights are much more of a problem for me.

Of course it's possible that there's a high correlation between blue (aftermarket) lamps and mis-aimed headlights.

Several things on the battery drain

You are locking the car, aren't you? Paradoxically, when the security system is ON, the vehicle uses far less power. Apparently several of the more power-intensive subsystems go to sleep when the...

Change the subject line of your post to start your answer

In reverse order:

Because the hoses are at the top of the heater core and there's no pressure, you won't loose much coolant. For the engine hoses, try running a drain snake through them, or an...
