Neither, the A6 didn't get a 4.2 until 2000 (in the usa), and it was a belt unit.

All 6 speed made after 1996 are wide first gear.

There is no difference in shifting.

You can take them apart and clean them.

A shop near me charges 350.00 for the service. Oil sludges everything up in there.

There's alot of bad press about them..

I'd certainly be very very careful when dealing with Motodyne, there's been alot of bad things said by a number of people on several different forums. Just do your homework.

S8 engine won't work unless...

You have the S8 ECM, S6 harness, S8 exhaust manifolds and S6 downpipes, and S6 transmission and S8 trans ECM.

The only Audi with a rear torsen was a V8, and no Audi came with torsen diffs all around.

A TDI based 6 speed was installed yielding higher 5th and 6th gears. I don't think I'd go to the expense of putting a 6 speed with a .73 6th gear in place of the 016 with a .73 5th gear.

Anybody got BTDT's on putting allroad headlamps on a 4.2? I read somewhere that someone said the black housings are the same for all C5's it ain't true.
