Is there a way to test/cycle my pump with the VAG tool?

I'm getting a repeating CEL light on this issue. I understand it might be the hoses but I'd like to check the pump while I'm at it.

But my second number, 4e0 910 731 b 119 seems a little more difficult to locate.

If so wouldn't that leave the circuit open? Is a coupling necessary?

The battery hasn't exhibited signs of failure but it is old and I have some codes so I'll change that next. I imagine aftermarket is okay? If not please...
