i asked the same question on the European audi-sport forum several months ago and owners confirmed these decals are under the clear coat and not removable. I'd go black optics instead.

I was quoted $1200 at the dealer and paid $89 locally. No difference with camera alignment noted afterward. Now it's 2000 miles later and no issue.

My 23 yr old son has had a 2013 S4 for the last 4 years but drives my wife's S6 at every opportunity. The 4.0TT is an amazing motor. S6 just needs Eurocode swaybars.
