I drove my dealers demo last week. Left all sorts of comments for the cameras.

All the demo's have cameras.... so I left a few choice intended seemingly unintentional remarks.

"God.... is this a sports car? Why does it have automatic transmission. The guy who installed...

You got me thinking, so I sourced an audi tt 225 engine via local salvage yard.

used complete engine: $3,375 (extra for shipping if needed)

remanufactured complete engine $5,525 (extra for shipping if needed)

They could only locate a 2001 225 engine at that price.

A complete engine replacement for $5k isn't bad. =)

I'm not too surprised - what % of the primary components did you wind up selling?

engine block, head, light assembly and suspension ??

Maybe somebody who had a head-on who was looking to save money on parts.

Did they give you the...

Just be sure to smile in the dealer's demo and say hello to the hidden cameras! =)

I drove my dealer's demo today. 3.2 DSG Coupe - and I let loose on how all Audi's now all look the same and I wish that there was a car in the lineup that looked unique... ya know... sorta like...

Re: 2.0T and FWD - I have the same feeling in my FWD 180.

I bought a used FWD 180 for a couple of reasons, but I have noticed that FWD in the TT is a challenge. You can definately feel the difference when you're in a 4Motion TT.

My question would...

Good deal - When will you take delivery of the MkII? (gonna post reports in the MkII forum?)

I'm thinking about letting my daughter drive the MkI (with a soccery ball car wrap) for her 16th birthday.

(It's still keeping it till the wheels fall off)

I think I might go for a MkII...

I was cruising up to Dallas with the wife, and she says, "Oh Son of Bitch, what's wrong with the car now?"

I said, "the car is telling us that we need to stop and eat because the car will...

So, did your audi advocate take care of it, (your last post was "too bad, so sad" from AoA.

I thought that they told you "tough cheese" (paraphrased).

Folks buying used TT's tioday at $8k are not going ot pay $5k to fix the engine when...

.... they don't get the TB service done and it stops working.

I don't think it'll take 20 years... more like 10.

If your TT is paid off, keep it and buy the truck. If you....

...owe more than 10k on the TT, sell it and buy the truck.

If you owe less than 10k and your TT is 2001 or newer, refinance it and buy a clunker truck instead ($2,500). You can still drive the...
